Established in 1947In 1924 there were some brush arbor meetings held in the Walnut Springs area. As a result of that there were two groups (Methodists, and Baptists) who pooled their resources and labor and built a meeting house for both of the congregations to separately meet in. Then, on November 2nd, 1947 the Walnut Springs Bible Baptist Church was founded with 9 charter members. One of our founding members, Mrs. Ruth Mewbourn, wrote a history of our church. In conclusion, she wrote the following, "God has always provided the necessity of His church with gifts, tithes, and love offerings, and the sweet spirit of God prevails and lingers on to all who darken the doors." To these words we can say, "Amen, sister!" God has never failed to meet the needs of His church and our church is still known today for the sweet spirit of God, that continues to work among us!

Our GoalJesus gave the first church He established a commission, the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20). That is the goal of Walnut Springs Bible Baptist Church. We seek to:

Daniel Holmes
Pastor
Daniel has been happily married to Brittani since 2009. God has blessed them with 5 children. They were privileged to serve the Lord for 10 years as missionaries in Russia and Ukraine. In March of 2023, the Holmes family moved to Canton for Daniel to serve as the associate pastor. In March of 2024 Daniel became the senior pastor of our church. Daniel is an expository preacher, one who preaches consecutively, verse-by-verse through books of the Bible. He has preached, here at Walnut Springs, through the Sermon on the Mount, Galatians, and the Psalms. He is currently preaching through the Gospel according to Mark in the Sunday morning service and the book of Genesis in the Sunday evening service.
